    Beginner Looking for some Opinions

$1000 is enough,.. general rule of thumb (for me at least) only risk 1-2% per trade. Plenty of posts on here that hint on "how much you need to start". Question is how much you profit or lose over the 6-12 months. Even +$0.50 a trade is profitable.

    Recommended Online trader platform?

Hi Lads. Well.. For the last 6 months or so I have been demo trading cfds through Plus500 and while the spreads seem large, the platform seems ok. No fees (those are incorporated into spread) and a very straight-forward way to trade. Just wondering as a newbie about to take the plunge into...

No. I don't think $50 is enough. Cpl of bad trades and you will have zip.

FAQ How Much Money Does a Trader Need To Start Trading?

Agree. If you think about the risk .5-1.5% per trade. $1000 seems to be a great starting point. ie 5-15$. With multiple trades more equity is obviously a better thing.

    Typical day trading

Similar to what I do. But I'm trading silver/gold, have to look into FX. Sometimes (more then often) I set target too high against the amount I'm trading and it hits stop loss during the day when I could have closed in profit. I think it does help to watch certain trades that you do, but in...

FAQ How Much Money Does a Trader Need To Start Trading?

True. But having all that money can inevitably lead to taking greater risks and therefore losing (or winning) more. And that's the biggest point I think, winning small or big, losing small or big it's all relevant. Being level headed about your trading is what matters. A win is a win, a lose is...

FAQ How Much Money Does a Trader Need To Start Trading?

How would 1 thousand go? If you traded 1-2% per trade surely that would be enough for testing the waters. Yes you could get a bad run but then you can determine the mistakes you'd be making

FAQ How Much Money Does a Trader Need To Start Trading?

Been trading on a demo account for only 2 weeks with very small amounts. Looking to start with real money, so just reading through this thread.. $1000 start would be the minimum? and 2-5% trades (20-50$)? Currently using Plus500 and no fees (or barely)

    Novice trader blog .

I think for the simple reason that you are using a demo account there are too many 'ifs' and 'buts'. With fake money more risks are generally taken knowing the fact it isnt your money. But nonetheless its definitely the right place to start. Id just be trying to stay out of the red (-%) as a...
