$1000 is enough,.. general rule of thumb (for me at least) only risk 1-2% per trade. Plenty of posts on here that hint on "how much you need to start". Question is how much you profit or lose over the 6-12 months. Even +$0.50 a trade is profitable.

Agree. If you think about the risk .5-1.5% per trade. $1000 seems to be a great starting point. ie 5-15$. With multiple trades more equity is obviously a better thing.

How would 1 thousand go? If you traded 1-2% per trade surely that would be enough for testing the waters. Yes you could get a bad run but then you can determine the mistakes you'd be making

Been using Plus500 for a cpl of weeks, seem ok Reviews are ok as well, think its the spread that you need to check and whether you want 24/7 chat or email enquiries. I'm open to suggestions as well.

I think for the simple reason that you are using a demo account there are too many 'ifs' and 'buts'. With fake money more risks are generally taken knowing the fact it isnt your money. But nonetheless its definitely the right place to start. Id just be trying to stay out of the red (-%) as a...
