    Firefox problems

I find the following very useful: Systraymeter http://www.freewaregenius.com/2007/07/10/systraymeter/ and also Sweepram http://www.freewaregenius.com/2007/07/06/sweepram/ (I obtained both of these from this excellent link...

Any good indicators or techniques to avoid chop?

Have a look at John Carter's "Squeeze" indicator, from www.tradethemarkets.com. I find it excellent. It is based on Bollinger Bands and Keltner Channels. It is my main indicator.

Heads Up - ETX 100 quid

I do agree to some extent, some SB companies will give you a 1 point spread on the Dax instead of 2, but not many. Also, most companies on the Dow will give you 3-4 point spread but ETX is 5. I did have a long conversation with them about this, and one of their arguments is that, apparently...

Heads Up - ETX 100 quid

Thanks for this, it sounds like a neat solution. Without looking I'll assume that IG don't zeroise their prices when the market is closed.... ..hopefully this time next week I'll be able to review my charts like anyone else!! :D:D:D:D

Heads Up - ETX 100 quid

Only just seen this thread!! It's very strange how people have completely different experiences of the same company. I've been a client of Tradindex (now ETXCapital) for about 6 years, so I wasn't eligible for the free £100 :( I also use CMC. I used to love CMC, when they had excellent...

    Top 10 Entry Mistakes?

If you are a proponent of indicators, you could try this: add 2 of the SAME indicator to your chart, one set to "Fast" settings, or "aggressive" entry. The second set to "Slow" or "conservative" entry. When your "fast" one triggers you sit up and pay attention, and wait to see if your...

    T2W Members' Choice Awards 2008

in the "Favourite Spreadbetting" category, ETXCapital and Tradindex are one and the same. Any votes for these should be merged.

    If you like MAs

There are some people who ONLY use MA crossovers successfully, I seem to recall a few people on T2W that are proponents of this. There are 100s of methods and systems for trading, as can be found on this board, I was merely pointing out that if you like MAs then it might be worth looking at the...

    If you like MAs

There's a lot more to it unfortunately!! I wish it was that simple. If you're just starting out then you have a few years ahead of you yet I reckon... If you want to make emas the basis of a strategy then I suggest you find examples when it DOESN'T work, as many as possible, and identify the...

    If you like MAs

The 2 panels immediately underneath are MACDs, and I watch crosses of the zero line. The third is a visual representation of 8,21 ema crosses. Having it there reminds me not to fight against it, i.e. I don't go Long if its red. The final panel is the "squeeze" from John Carter of Trade the...

    If you like MAs

If you like MAs then I strongly suggest you consider the 34 ema, on any instrument, especially on a 5 min chart. I don't know why I'm doing this, but I'm posting my system, which I've fine tuned over the last 4-5 years. Probably something to do with the Bacardis I've been imbibing! This is a...

    Real time financial news feed

Hi there CMC Marketmaker has real-time news releases during the day which I find useful. However, I plan to stop using cmc in 2009. Does anyone know a FREE web site or service that would replicate this feature, i.e. display real-time financial news information during the day? Meanwhile I'll...

    Real-time FTSE, Dow, LIFFE, CBOT

Yes, I just tried mine, and you can't go back a year on a 1 minute timeframe. Perhaps you should try a different provider, and cancel your membership after your 1 week trial.

    Real-time FTSE, Dow, LIFFE, CBOT

If you're on a week's trial then you should be able to select intraday timeframe's from a drop down for the particular instrument(s) you're interested in. There are video tutorials from the home page if you're not sure how to do it.
