i've come up with a new theory depending on technical analysis mixed in with a bit of fundamental (TA followed by what the sector the stock is in is doing). on the side i'll place long-term swing bets like the european debt crisis, it went up rather high but was bound to come all the way back...

so all EAs are useless, and anybody trying to trade the market alone will get beaten up? only companies of size say larger then half a billion can profit from it?

used backtesting and wasn't curve fitting, it was mean reversion albeit with different parameters

Its just a strategy i came up with is profitable (albeit with some tweeking and some not working) on all ftse 100 shares using percentages not pips, I went through and individually set up backtested each alert before they shut the platform.

I've been looking around online for the past few days and just cannot find if its possible to use percentage movements instead of pip movements on automated trading in MT4, I'm sure it must be possible but cannot for the life of me find the software add-on needed Thanks in advance for any...

leg are registered on the london stock exchange so maybe as their new platform is proving a bust with clients, it may be worth shorting their shares. that are down 500% from their 2012 highs of over £40

they don't have technical alerts...so my trading strategy is out of the window, and so am I, with the new lcg platform. time to find a different spread betting broker

maybe trading it when its outside expected parameters, say jobs expected 200,000, if it ranges between 150k-250k then leave it if its 149k sell if its 251k buy, instead of trading when its a little better than expected maybe yesterday i should've left it as it was 213vs207 expected wasn't much...

i'll take that on board thanks :) reacting on news feeds instead of before feeds and only if the news favours the trend, would that be a good place to start?
