Ive often read that trading on longer time frames (ie days, weeks) instead of intraday is usually easier and a good place to start for beginners. can anyone explain why this might be?

i'd have to say commitment, most traders work full time or go to school, which makes it hard to focus fully on trading. with enough commitment, i think most people can overcome emotion, and properly learn TA. Of course my opinion has no credibility since im just getting started in this game...

The August Doldrum is an annual slowdown in the markets due to a decrease in institutional participation. I guess theyve got to take their summer vacations at some point right? :p Id like to know if anyone else here has noticed the effects of this in their trading. so ill go first HAVE...

Hey Mr. Charts, quick question. Can we expect weeks like this week with fed meetings to be somewhat slower than other weeks (using this method)? or is it generally not affected by such events?

hey guys, i was just wondering what kind of news stories you guys screen for either before market open, or during the trading day that might cause a stock to move nicely. ive been looking at earnings but the way stocks respond to them seems to be a bit unpredictable.

Hey everyone, bit of a noob here I was wondering why profits of losses for trades are discribed in dollars and cents as opposed to percentages. If i made $1.50 off a $10 stock, it would be more of a gain than $1.50 off a $500 since i would be able to purchase more shares of the $10 stock...

im not an expert but youd probably want to be monitoring the etfs instead if you want to see volume ie SPY for the S&P like peto said, the actual indicies themselves have no volume
