Ordering from websites

More and more goods are being ordered from websites and that has to be good for everyone apart from maybe staff in shops.
My family and I have ordered many things over the last few years as I'm sure many people here have.
Our experiences might be helpful to others and maybe people would like to add theirs to this thread.

Excellent:
play.com
amazon
firebox
ebay

Very good:
tesco
lastminute

Moderate
aeos

Poor
ocado

Bad:
virginmega

virginmega are beyond belief.
Goods ordered in stock 28/11/06 still not delivered - a birthday present for Dec 15th ! ; marked "ready for delivery" on website tracking:
eleven emails unanswered;
eight phone calls unanswered;
two voice mails unanswered:
It says on the "your order" section of the site:
"Please note that orders cancelled or declined will not be processed"
Does that mean you can't cancel an order?
There is nowhere on the site where you can cancel.

Burton is good.

I agree with play.com - excellent place to buy DVD's etc.

With Amazon check the delivery date on the confirmation e-mail...it may differ from the one quoted when you ordered and it's not too late to cancel. My order of 30th Nov is estimated up to 18th January. May be because it was a few things bundled as one order, previous experiences good.

T2W Bookstore (UK)...... Excellent

Presumably you ordered by credit card in which case you could consider making a claim against them and at least you will get your money back.

Mr. Charts started this thread Thanks, Paul.
I'll give Virgin till noon tomorrow then contact the credit card company.
Happily my daughter is a lawyer so legal action costs me nothing anyway.

Mr. Charts started this thread re-virginmega

Despite further emails y'day and today and several attempts to get through on the phone and leaving voice mails, virginmega have failed to answer.
Visa have now put a stop on them taking any money out of my account - very helpful.
