Best Software for Mechanical Trading

Hi All,

I'm interested in what software people think is best for mechanical trading, I'm not so interested in executions rather backtesting and notifications of trade entries.

I realise this probably been covered before but searching I didn't find that exact question asked so I'd appreciate people's opinions/experiences.

Have a look at Ninjatrader, Multicharts and Trading Blox. All three are very good.

Ninjatrader is great front end for mechanical trading,
have a look at http://www.fairvaluefutures.com/ they provide ninjatrader with Zenfire and will do a 30 day demo.

But Amibroker is considered to be better by many and its a lot cheaper as well.

I am looking for to buy a used copy of APS Automatic Pattern Search v7.0 or higher. This program is not sold any more by its developer. A fund manager I know told me it is one of the best he ever used. Please send pm if you have it. Thanks, Rick
