looks like a market profile type indicator? But I dont think there is such thing as volme on forex? I think The volume on MT is being calculated on ticks for a specific time frame and not on the number of contracts traded.
I look at the actual futures contract of currencies on a different platform(where you can monitor the profile), and trade the FX on metatrader from the futures signals.

you dont get volume for forex on retail platforms, so wasting your time looking at that. the volume shown is actually ticks, number of trades made, not volume

Effort index
Hello guys,
I have found an indicator called Effort index for Amibroker. I think it'll be helpful to have it for MT4, because i couldn't find a similar version. It could be helpfull, maybe in combination with other indicators such as Better volume.
Unfortunately I don't use Amibroker, therefore, I don't really know the logic behind this AFL code.

absolute vol is not important, relative volume is, which is why tick volume actually works out more useful.... i have doubled my account several times over using tick vol.
