Free stock/FX scanning software

I'm a newbie

You've probably had this question a million time, my apologies in advance


I'm after a software that will scan stocks using technical criteria I've set. I'd prefer a free option if possible as I'm still in the testing stage of my development in trading?

You could probably suggest that functionality to the guys at http://www.algxchange.com - they have a stock prediction api, that could probably be given some parameters to do this?

I have no idea for FX. But for common stocks, you may try out this free stock market software - JStock (http://jstock.sourceforge.net).

It has an easy to use drag-n-drop box, to let you compose/design your very own technical indicator rules.
