Hey everybody

I'm working with Pro real Time (www.prorealtime.com) available in French and English.
I'm using the end of day version which is free to use. Only register. Real time is not necessary for me as my trading window is dayly and the upper window is weekly.

I have been testing a lot of trading strategies bases on the book of Elder (triple screen), Colby (Encyclopedia of trading strategies, ... The backtesting utility is quite usefull.

PRT also has a proscreener to select stocks which are confirming selection criteria for your trades.

Who is using this software and your experience?

I use it. It has more bells and whistles than the IG version, so I usually have Prorealtime EOD and the IG version realtime going at the same time. That also means I can copy some indicators from Prorealtime to IG.

However I have stopped investing at the moment (I need the funds for a new roof) so I am considering paying for PRT realtime so I can use the papertrading module, which looks pretty good.

Thanks for your reply. I see you are working with CFD's. Our group is oriented to trackers (ETF's) normally with a double leverage (L40 en BX4 trackers of the CAC40).
I've been bachtesting a lot but the Holy Grail doesnot exist. My favorite is the chaikin oscillator with a setting of 10,3 which gives quite early warnings of an entry. I only trade with MACD weekly rising and the macd daily above zero (histogram). Another is the STOchastic slow with settings 50,2,2 which gives nice entries with a golden cross of 20 %. The bull / bear medium term is the close bove /beneath the daily EMA 13 after a major key reversal (such as march 9th). As an exit I use trendline (support) as soon as I can or otherwise the Chandelier exit (of Chuck Lebeau)( highest of the (high - 3 ATR). An uptrend is verified with the linear regression slope > 0,2 % and rsquared signifcant. ADX en DMI are only helpfull to visualize the status.

Backtesting with Chaikin oscillator gives nice results.

What do you think about it.

I hope you have a new roof soon (with insulation) as the weather actually is a motivator

Kind regard

me... i do use it and have my trading strategies programed into Prorealtime. it works wonders and it's great for a free platform. Real time it's kind of pricey... i would go to other plataforms instead for real time quotes like metastock or others since PRT is too pricey if you want to follow a bunch of markets.

Indeed the cost of the real time quotes are considerable. Anyhow for me it's great as my trading is in the range of days or weeks and no daytrading. The only problem is you can't link it to a broker to have your orders executed according to your strategy. In France they have a link with Boursorama but not accesible to no-french nationality. Another possibility is Today's brookers with Chartnet (which is identical to PRT) the charges of realtime quotes are then reduced in proportion to your trading activity.
As I'm rather new in trading I'd liked your opinion about my trading indicators.

Kind regards
