Hi,
Does anyone have any recommendations on a charting package for displaying spreads. for example DAX-FTSE spread as a ratio/difference etc.

Does not have to be realtime, but historical data is a must.

Tried futuresource(free version), but it has no history.
Thanks,

SDG

If you want to run over twenty years of data, you might get a program that will run on anything and buy your historical data from csi. If you can limit your search to recent history, end of day, you might try Barchart.com. You do understand that contracts expire. If you want to optimize studys, continuous contracts may give more consistent results.

Hi GoldTrader,
What are you trying to do?
-- I want to graph the difference between these two index futures FDAX(AX Z9) and FTSE(Z Z9). The difference could be in points or percentage etc. I feel these 2 indices have a high corelation as stated in these forurms. I will probably put a BB around the difference(also a suggestion I received here) and then spread trade these two. Long 2 FDAX/Short 5 FTSE contracts or vice versa, as I find the two indices have a 1/2.5 ratio.

I am still new to trading and have never traded spreads. So still trying to find my feet here. Just wanted some veterans to sanity check my approach(thanks GoldTrader for your response).

Barchart does not do Eurex/Liffe futures.

I know eSignal does them, but I find the product is an overkill for just this feature. I am aware of continuous contracts and again eSignal do them and a good point as the new software I am looking for should do them too.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Regards,

SDG

Have you tried Prorealtime (www.prorealtime.com)? You can plot spreads on the complete workstation, which is free for end of day data. This includes continuous contracts for DAX and FTSE futures.
