Automating IG Index

Has anyone tried automating trades with IG Index ?

I've been having a play araound with EA's in MetaTrader on an Alpari demo account which seems quite powerful. It would be nice to have the same capability with IG but they don't have an MT4 interface. Also it would be very nice not to be tied to a Windows platform like MT4 so you could run from a range of devices.

I was thinking of reverse engineering the IG mobile java client and building something based on that. The other approach would be to automate at the http level probably using the iphone interface as this is likely to be simpler than the normal desktop browser interface. The big snag with that approach is the web interfaces are much more likely to change and break any integration. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has tried anything similar.

I know you posted this almost 6 years ago. I wondered if you did indeed make any progress automating your systems with IG? I know it can be done using using ProRealTime nowadays but I am having some trouble programming this and would like some help.

Any help is appreciated.
