Hello!

I have a bloomberg terminal at work but now i'm on a vacation for the next three weeks. I urgently need access to Bloomberg but even though that I have a login name and a password, I can't access the system. I've tried several things - since I'm not a Bloomberg anywhere subscriber, I can't access Bloomberg that way. Then I downloaded the bloomberg software, installed it on my laptop, but in order to start the program I need an "access key" - which I don't have.

Do you know a way to access Bloomberg only by using your login name and password? Or can somebody give me such an access key?

I really need your support, because I'm in a desperate situation!

Thanks in advance!

For god's sake, just call BBG... Either they will sort you out (they might enable you to access the terminal without your B-Unit) or there's nothing that can be done.

I think usually you can have a couple of 24 hour slots of access without a B Unit but after that they ask you to switch to bbg anywhere. Only issue I have with it is that the fingerprint recognition on my B-Unit doofer is all f**ked up and it takes like 10 goes to get the bloody thing to acknowledge.

Oddly enough it's ok the monday after my once monthly (whether I need it or not) bath.

Guess maybe I should wash more ;)

Need our support? What about asking Bloomberg for support? You know what you are asking is illegal. You are probably a desperate hacker.

If you really had a bloomberg terminal at work you would call your office and ask them to resolve this issue for you.

Are you that stupid to try to pull this one in here?

Thank you for the replies. I called Bloomberg, but unfortunately they couldn't help me either - they told me that I need a Bloomberg Anywhere subscription in order to access Bloomberg from anywhere. As surprised as I was to hear that, I asked if I could just log onto the system for one dya or so, having the account in my office. They said, that wasn't possible

But thanks anywhay for the support

it's definitely possible. People at my place have done it. But maybe that depends on your rep or something. Or maybe they were anywhere subscribers just had forgotten / mislaid the B-Unit.

So why aren't you subscribing to anywhere? They'll have the gear over to you pronto. It's pretty hassle free.

Yes, thats an option they offered me, but the fee is bigger. Maybe we'll do that when the crisis is over :)
