Software for spread trading

Hi
i'm completely new to spreadtrading and i'd be really pleased if people can give me some advice and insight.

What software packages/websites are best for doing chart analysis of spreads and in particular backtesting - is this something that is done for non-seasonally based spread trading and if not, how do you know probabilities in order to assess your risk/reward and money management? (Obviously, if you are trading seasonals then you are probably best subscribing to a seasonals service rather than trying to chart yourself)

I have looked at Nextrend, Barchart.com, Britefutures.com, TracknTrade (seems expensive for it's functionality), etc. and they only allow pretty basic charting of spreads, and no way whatsoever to efficiently and easy backtest a spread trading methodology.

Has anyone else come across this problem and is so what did they do to overcome it?

Advice will be much appreciated!

for doing spread, u have to take the Pro Version of TT, and paying their front fee
Velocity deliver the regular (no Pro) version of TT for Outright trading

U can see my video, it shows the TT Pro version, charts are good, in doing Spreads u don't need much, Bollinger Bands+ one velocity indicator is quite enough

no, no special symbol, u construct a synthetic index for yourself
no have to trade through a spreader platform, TT doing the job very well
 
There are may websites and products for pair/spread trading, but this thread is old. Will list a few if anyone is interested.
 
Steven, while this Thread is old, you can learn from it and appreciate this quick limit execution of both legs.
Actually as the markets are quite high, it take 1 Dax 6 eurostoxx

Good trading, in spreading, Traders are more profitable with less risk, and have longer longivity

I guess things have changed quite a bit since the last entry of this thread, however if some people are still looking for software that handles spread trading well, I'd recommend having a look at AlgoTrader. At our firm we indeed have spent quite some time looking for a flexible platform able to accommodate all sorts of spread trading & synthetic contracts (we also hesitated to build a tool from scratch), yet some time ago we found AlgoTrader. Now while it's not the most "beautiful" tool with regards to charting, its flexibility and easy handling of spread trading made it the right choice for us. It actually comes along with several other neat features, particularly when you're a small firm like ours.
