Hi all traders,

I am a newbie to Metastock.

I would like to know the reason for : Changing initial equity value causes the change in date of order to execute.

e.g. for the same formula condition say,Buy: c=29.81

if I use $30 for my initial equity, Metastock would execute my buy order on say 26/3/2001 at price $29.99, however, if I use $100,000 for my initial equity, it would execute my buy order on say 30/12/2003 at price $29.79 while the order of 26/3/2001 is cancelled due to open cost.

What is "Cancelled - open cost"?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.:)

Hi agains,

I haven't had much exposure to the Enhanced System Tester but would suggest your trade on 26/3/2001 fails due to lack of capital (initial equity).

26/3/2001: Initial Equity = $30 with a buy at $29.99 plus costs which if greater than $0.01 then the trade will be rejected.

Hope this helps,
rnr

Hi rnr,

Thanks for your help.

I have set other cost to zero and the capital is sufficient...

I think the problem would be on the trade with initial capital $100,000...
