Reuters Datalink Data divided into Sectors

Hi guys,

Reuters Datalink don't supply European Data divided into Sectors or even Indices. It is only divided into Countries and that is it. Useless for doing TA work on anything other than one individual stock.

I've asked reuters and their comment was "There's no demand for it so we won't provide it"

I have taken the plunge and bought an add-on to Metastock that lets you create any combinations of stocks to effectively do the organising of sectors yourself. I will be creating all the sectors and indexes etc for the UK this weekend and obviously intend to keep it maintained.

It may be possible to share this data with other people once i have done it such that the organisational work is already done. Will let you know.

I'm interested to know if there are others needing this data structure? All donations gladly accepted!

I agree, it should be something that Reuters does as a matter of course like other vendors. We pay the same as the US customers but get less for it. I will consider changing next renewal.

My issue is that i am paid up for a years data so they have me over a Barrel so to speak! (Ironic for a Cooper to be over a Barrel)

I tried the threats of other vendors but they insisted its not worth their while to do it. Did get the add-on for half price due to my complaints though.

The Add-on is called "Fire" if anyone is interested. Just complain about Europe not being supported and they'll discount it!

Did you ever get this sorted - I've just signed up to datalink only to find I cant search through just the ftse350 etc . Its just everything in London (about 4000 symbols) not really what i need
