error message on Vista? (Prosuite 2000i)

Just loaded Prosuite 2000i on to my laptop (with Vista) and I'm getting the following error messages;

''Failed to update the system registry Please try using REGEDIT''

or when opening saved code;

I/O error : ''Cannot open master file.''

Anyone come across this one and know how to fix?

cheers:|

I did manage to successfully install this on Vista and did not have any issues in doing so. Do you have UAC turned on or off ?

Belflan,

Can’t help, but could I suggest re-posting (new) with the title, “Error message on Vista”? More specific. May just attract the techies. Just an idea.

Grant.

UAC = user account control and it needs to be off to install Prosuite without errors but there may be other issues you are having as well.

First, right click the program shortcut Select Properties and then Compatibility. Check the box to "Run the program in compatibility mode for" and select Windows XP (Service Pack 2). Then, check the box labeled Privilege level to "Run the program as an administrator". Click Apply and then OK to apply compatibility selections.

The first error has to do with permission on REGISTRY. This is also resolved by going to the appropriate registry key at HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT and using REGEDIT to change the permissions to full control.

If you have any luck with the above let me know. If you also have problems reading the help file I will give you a link to solve that.

IB a/c talk to TS2Ki software?

Thanks Guys, (Paul, Alex)

Did what you's said and errors have now gone..

I've never used TS2Ki before, and the help function seems to be disabled.

anyone know how to get my IB account to talk to tradestation?

cheers:cool:

You will need 3rd part interface software to achieve that. I use hyperserver which is pretty good in my view. The website is out of date so you are best to email them telling them that you are on Vista at this address [email protected]

Hi Paul,

see what you mean about there web site (doesn't give log-ins)

is HyperServer Lite what i'm looking for? (100 EURO)

What I have is hyperserver 3 which is the replacement for hyperserver lite. You can also get backfill data with it so it is pretty good.

Paul

I think it is still the same price. Make sure you say that you want hyperserver for globalserver 2000 for interface with Interactivebrokers.

ARE YOU THANKING ME BY REMOVING FROM MY REPUTATION?

I JUST NOTICED YOU REMOVED POINTS FROM MY REPUTATION JUST FOR TAKING TIME TO ANSWER YOU POST AND TRY TO HELP YOU.

ALEX

Alex,

i truly don't know what has happen here I did try and add to your reputation.

tried again tonight and i get a message saying i need to spread some around before adding again to yours?

hi Paul

have sent a PM to sharky about it

i also tried to add to your rep. (did i short change you to?)

No you didn't but because you had no positive green dots then it doesn't add any points.

Alex,

Maybe this is what happened to you and it depends on when you got the rep. Belfan had no points when I received a rep so nothing was added but by the same token nothing could be taken away either.

Thanks Paul.

Alex & Paul, rep or no rep, thanks for your help anyway. hard to find this info anywhere else about TS2000i

Use VMWare

I also had some problems installing TradeStation 2000i on Vista, since no one has mentioned this as yet, I have tried installing VMware on my Vista 64 bit and have TradeStation 2000i running on Windows XP which sit inside of VMWare, works great.
