Earlier this week QuoteTracker Users had a big surprise on visiting the QT support board, to find the Medved brothers had sold there Charting Software to a Broker...

The support board has been taken down with this message...

QUOTETRACKER NEWS ANNOUNCEMENT:

We are excited to announce that the QuoteTracker software has been acquired by an affiliate of TD AMERITRADE, Inc. Over the next few days, you are going to see some small changes in our site, but we are going to continue to give you, our valued users, the same software and service that we are known for.

Unfortunately, we cannot support a message board. We are working to identify ways to get the message board working, but for now, you will have to send us messages for technical support via email – remember you should always contact your broker for brokerage account support.

On updating the software users are presented with a new User Argreement and adverts from only the the new owners.

There has been no public comment from Jerry Medved but it is said that the software will stay in its current form for the time being, but for how long is the concern of QT users.

They are likely to have been contracted into a transition period to support the product but for how long and what plans the Broker has for it is as yet unclear.

Jerry and Co. are well known for giving first class support and will be sad to see a change to this as well as any adverse change to the software with its 'free' ethos.

QuoteTracker supports numerous brokers and data feeds but its hard to see how that would continue, a broker advertising the competition, a definate conflict of interest.
A number of broker links have already been 'greyed out' of the software and website.
Some for legal reasons but i think QT is set for some major changes.
The future of the 'choose your feed free version' is most certainly under threat.

They deserve the rewards for putting all the hard work into QT, it will be interesting to see what they do when they finally move on, retirement or another project, i'd hope the latter.

That's a shame. Jerry's level of service has been legendary over the years, but I guess that commercial considerations must prevail. Good luck to him.
