My TS froze a few times today and now I can't log in. Got 'Logon failed' message. TS network status show all green lights!! and my internet is fine. Anybody get the same???

I had a few probs earlier this afternoon, but I think that was my laptops protest about the heat!

All OK now.

i've got the same

i'm on the line to tradestation at the moment. they say they have problems with BT customers but I am NTL so they are investigating

just off the phone - they say they have trouble with several UK based ISPs and they believe there is some form of server issue on this side of the Atlantic. They are trying to resolve from their end but advised me to contact my ISP to have them try to look into it as well

Hi Gareth

I am using NTL, too. By the way, do you know how to transfer custom analysis techniques and indicators to another PC? I have ADSL connection and TS is working fine with it, but my TS engines are all in NTL computer. I can switch the net connection but today made me realised that I must back up my work and should have the same working PC( laptop better for mobility) for emergency.
thanks,..

I'm sure there is a more direct way , but if i remember in the past i simply emailed my formulas to myself when i changed computers .

TS has been a nightmare of late, they have had a persistent problem with delayed data from Nymex and today everything got delayed. Comex was delayed by minutes. In my time dealing with them I have often found a very poor response to problems concerning data. It is very unprofessional and frustrating. I always make sure I have at least one other data source for every market and looking at geting "owndata" to get that feeding into TS8.

Twalker - I agree in general with your comments on TS attitude to support and problems. Yesterday seemed to be (at least the bit in the afternoon) a problem with a public relay server (I think thats the terminology) in the Chicago area which seemed to effect much of the traffic from the UK, rather than part of the TS infrastructure. To be fair once NTL had traced it and given me the info, TS support took it on board and said they would chase it. By this time the markets were closing (my markets anyway) so I left them to it .

In TS 8.1 I use the backup functions in the file menu, but must admit have been a bit lax in actually testing it recently. I seem to remember in the past you could just copy the MyWork directory and everything underneath it across to another installation. There is some info on the support forum.

I always transfer systems and workspaces between computers on memory stick.
You need to copy workspaces in;
C:\Program files\Tradestation 8.*(build ***)\My Work
and then export all the indicators, systems you su which are not standard TS supplied ones using
File-Import/Export EasyLanguage
function in TS.
When you gt to new machine, instal TS then open the file containing systems and then the worksaces. all settings will be there.

To make things more efficient I now store workspaces in My Documents\Tradestation as default directory.

Anybody else have problems with TradeStation yesterday from around 17.20 ish on (UK time).

yeah, i had probs briefly at that time

What I also noticed when trying to see if it was a problem my end or not was that their web pages were also unavailable whereas other web sites were fine.
