Hello All,

I wonder if anyone can help me with coding a simple indicator.

What I am looking for is the opportunity to input 2 dates and then to plot a line which goes through the closes of both these dates. Additionally, rather than just have the line positioned between the 2 dates, I would also like for the line to be automatically extended past the 2nd (and more recent date) so as to include todays date.

Any help much appreciated,

Many Thanks,

Chorlton

Don't know why you need code which I can't anyway provide; use 'Trendline' tool ( \ ), draw a line, right click on it, Properties, enter 'Start date' and 'Start value' — Close price, repeat for 'End', complete 'extension' etc.

Or:-
Physically draw a trendline between the two points as near as you can, then right click the trendline and choose Trendline Properties.
Click on Snap to Price and Right Extension, then Apply and OK.
Make a visual check that you have snapped to the correct places.

Thanks for the reply but I really do need the code. The obvious and simplest way to construct the trendline would be to draw it by hand as you rightly have said.

Unfortunately, I need to be able to refer to this same trendline as part of one of my metastock explorations. Consequently, the only way for me to achieve this is to construct it as an indicator and then refer to the indicator in my exploration.

I can't believe that I can't find anyway on the www where I can code this and hence why I posted my question on here.

Thanks anyway though............
