Updating Names in Metastock

Hi All,

Does anybody know how I can go about updating the stocks names in Metastock? At the moment a lot of my data (LSE EOD) use their EPIC codes for their names!! Consequently, I need to find a way to update these codes with the companies proper names.

I've had a look on the Equis website and also the Paritech site (used for my data) for help but so far with no luck.

Any ideas??

If your data supplier provides names, then you will see them....otherwise you will have to add names manually....

Prestel I think supplies names as well....

I don't use names in my MS....but I use Sharescope to check out the names of any code that I want to explore further....

Would you know how to add names manually in Metastock???

Yes

When in MS, go to open, and when you get dialogue box, clock OPTIONS at top right and choose VIEW by NAME

After that click on the name you want to change and if you hover your arrow for a while and click, it will give you chance to change the name.....

You will have to open and close that item for change to take effect...

Also you can use Downloader.....Open the share you want to change and change the name...simple as that...

You must play more and explore more...it's all there...
