We've found it to be pretty robust.
As per usual the common weak links are client and broker side. Either the client doesn't have a robust enough system to both process and route reliably and broker APIs are often not brilliant.
The strategy you use can be relevant as well as an event driven one can end up competing for API bandwidth as everyone else clamours to change exposure at the same time.
If a domestic user and performance is critical then running your side on a virtual server becomes prudent.
