metastock pro for FTSE ??

Hi

Currently a Sharescope Pro user who needs to upgrade for back testing and better graphics...Day trader / Swing trader. I am troubled by the lack of response from Metastock to queries and get no answer from Paritech (London reselleres ?) This does not bode well ! Considering E Signal or Tradestation ...does anyone have a view as to the reliability of the services mentioned and ease of use , initially for LSE instruments and later futures. I trade CFD's mainly.

Metastock currently (v11) is mainly a charting and analysing tool. In my experience the learning curve concerning the script language MSFL is not so hard as with other tools (e.g. Tradestation/Multicharts, Ninjatrader, Amibroker etc.) and that's one big advantage of MS. The disadavantage of that concept is, that you reach the limits of this MSFL earlier... but you can extend the script language using external DLLs or a C-based script language extension (Vitamin C). But for both alternatives some developer knowledge is necessary.

If you want also to trade directly Metastock currently don't offer any standard support of a Broker integration. Concerning Broker integration Tradestation, Multicharts and Ninjatrader are better positioned.

But also these products don't offer support for CFD Brokers. If that's your objective you have to take a review of Metatrader or alternatively LMAX Brokers with their trading platforms.
