Buying TradeStation

I am about to buy TradeStation 2000i but there is something that I am not certain about.
All the examples in books magazines etc. that show reports done by TradeStation, the testing has been done on a whole number of contracts. I was intending to trade using spread betting where the min bet equates to around 20% of a contract as this will give be 5 times the diversification for any given amount. Could anyone tell me if TradeStation can be used to report on trading this way?
I have contacted various resellers and the price of TradeStation varies from £1175 to £1750, the more expensive the more / better sounding support. I am wondering if I need to pay the extra to get the support, I tried to access the USA TradeStation forum but it unless you have bought a copy the registration process is out of action. Does anyone here use the forum?
(I should say perhaps that I have done some simple strategy testing with metastock and I use spreadsheets)

Yes you should be able to do this as you can specify the monetary value per point. Also you can include the commission and slippage.

I do use the TS Forum but not that often and in my view you would be better off buying a second hand copy of TS2000i unless you really do need to have a lot of support.

Thanks for the reply. The American Ebay had TS2000i for sale last week I was out bid at £500 !
Could I ask you about the TradeStation Customer ID number, some websites ask for this to be emailed to them. Would this number be valid for a second hand copy?
(As for support I emailed a sales query to the cheapest reseller 36 hours ago and have had no reply, so I can imagine what their support would be like!!)

In what context are they asking for this ?

The user ID is sometimes used for custom indicators to ensure that only the person buying them can use the indicator. In my view it would still be fine on a second hand copy. I have often seen second hand copies sell for only £150 so have a look around.
