Metatrader 4 Streaming Servers

Hi,

Does anyone know when you connect to the server from your broker when using their charts or any other do you download the charts while on MT4 or is it streamed on the server. Looking at the connection status icon it has like 4500 kbps does that mean you are using 4.5mb per second downloading using up your internet bandwidth?
