Maybe you could explain why we should want to download your indicator.
I read the thread at TSW but still not clear. Am I correct in assuming that the EL Code has a timebomb that stops it working unless it is leased after Feb 1st 2005?
What is special about this indicator that makes it worth paying for?

We had a number of emails regarding the DV indicator already. Thanks for your participation and keep them coming !!

The main question seems to be regarding the correct application of this indicator. We'll have a how-to PDF ready for you shortly. Our typical answer was/is as follows:

The DV Indicator is an excellent addition to you daytrading toolbox. It forewarns you of an upcoming long bar day for the asset to seek to daytrade. Typically, as a daytrader, you are looking for a day that opens at the high or the low and closes at low or the high of that day. If you can harvest 70% plus of that move, you do well daytrading the markets. This indicator tries to pinpoint those opportunitiies for you. Look for a low reading of the BLUE curve. The big bar day is coming up in a day or two.

This indicator WILL NOT TELL YOU THE DIRECTION. THAT YOU CAN ASCERTAIN FROM A ZERO-LAG MOMENTUM/TREND INDICATOR such as our CI Indicator.

Timebomb Date is not cast in concrete. It can be extended. In all probability, as we did for our CI & DCI Indicators, it will be. This is the reason:

The plan is to to add the Directional Volatility (DV) Indicator to our HA toolkit, currently offered by eSignal, in their next Release (7.9), due some time in middle of Q1 2005. If there are any delays in the roll-out of that Release, the timebomb for both TradeStation and eSignal versions will be extended accordingly.

If it is not asking too much ... just one more small request..you know those adhering banners that go on the front windscreen..they used to depict stuff like "Tracey and Steve"..Steve always appearing on the drivers side of course (let's turn the sexist screw a bit)...well I was wondering could I have one saying "Buy and Hold"...what do you think ...maybe not..hey you're paying so why not advertise instead..something like "Smalls Inside and Longs Outside"
 
The actual details are buried in our code.......and we do not give out our codes.

In a capsule form, we are measuring the cyclicality of the quality of the Price Range over a given period of time.

then is there any way to incorporate the plot values into a strategy? how can i test anything?
 
I can convert the indicator to a function for you and then you can build your own strategy around it. Would that help? Email us your TradeStation Customer Number via the email link on our website, or private message us here with your TSCN.

I give you a hint: you may want to utilize our CI Indicator along with the DV Indicator in your strategy. On our screens, the combo is very promising. But frankly, right now, we are booked solid for both in-house and contract R&D till Q2 '05.
