Other than Alpari and Vantage are there any other UK based Brokers (not Spreabettors)that provide the MT4 platform?

And also MB Trading (MBT) UK, the real ECN broker. I think will become bigger and the best.

They are all FSA regulated. Hedging? if you mean holding long and short of same pair at same time, forget it. From my point of view, that is just waste of time and fees.

'Hedging' is something I often use, but I will only hedge a longer term winning position - never a losing position. I don't want to close (say) my long which I have established with a good entry and tight stop, but I'm getting an intraday short signal - I will take the short entry as well. Sometimes I will get a profit from the 'hedge', sometimes I will get a BE, sometimes I will get a loss, sometimes I will get a full reversal and cover my long. So 'hedging' can work if applied correctly.

Thanks gedward, do you have any experience with Activtrades?

I dont Stiltskin. Better off just asking them if they use the MT4 Plugin and if they say they dont they should be good to use then they cant skew the prices or mess with them.

I read the reviews on Forexpeacearmy and there are some alarming posts regarding Activtrades.

So I emailed them and back and forth a few times regarding them changing the feed on winning acounts, the responses are laughable.

Also the guy answering my emails ignored my questions regarding the Virtual dealer plug in or similar in house software and when pushed his reply was evasive.

It's a pity because I would rather invest my funds with a UK based broker and it must be with MT4 for the time being as the EA's I use only work on MT4.

Was not impressed with Vantage either.

I would forget about MT4 as as much as i like it all brokers that use it use the Virtual Dealer Plugin. The only one ji have found that state they dont use it is Oanda as per below.

I really like MT4 platform too compared to the old spreadbet platform I used to use but as you say the use of the Virtual dealer plug in is a concern.

I ask every Broker whose platform I am trying out on demo if they use the plug in, not had one admit it yet and I am doing ok on demo but scared to go live because of the horror stories I read where results go rapidly downhill when going live.

Obviously it it is harder Psychologially trading live but if they change the feed or use a plug in that's dishonest.

I have tried Oanda but it is not suitable for me because I do Hegde and they don't allow it.
I would try a Broker who does not use MT4 but I do need to find one that allows .01 lots to be traded and of course even if it not MT4 they can still develop thier own in house plug ins oftware.
