Hi everyobdy,

I'm starting my own journal here as I'm going live! with my currency trading account and will be good to share the experience, thoughts and feelings about it. Any comments appreciated. I will post the pdf or screenshot of the acc from time to time for confirmation of what's posted here (except any sensible details). Since I got started yesterday, today is my second day live, and I'm already done for the day. I started the acc with $25K and I have a 35% max risk tolerance before considering the adventure over without that affecting my normal lifestyle.:D

DAY 2
START: USD 25,102
FINISH: USD 25,874
DAILY VARIATION: USD +772 (3.07%)
MONTHLY VARIATION: USD +874 (3.49%)

Comment: Rough day in the morning, where most of the over-30 positions opened today took place. It was one of those days when the market tries you a bit before giving you something back. That happened after the news @ 13:30GMT, so whatever the damned excuse, it worked ok for me as confirmed my model's parameters signals. I use a high-frequency model so I can calculate results on a daily basis and I use (damned I'll be for a while...) Meta****r platform, which is not the best for high-frequency; am planning to move if I get pissed off but for now it's OK as spreads in the broker are really good on majors (I only trade the big pairs, the most liquid ones), down to below a pip or between 1 and 1,5 most of the time with no commission attached to trading. OK, enough for my first post, good trading everyone.

DAY 3
START: USD 25,874
FINISH: USD 26,854
DAILY VARIATION: USD +980 (3.78%)
MONTHLY VARIATION: USD +1,854 (7.41%)

Comment: Finishing the day early as some pips have been cashed despite the earlier struggle. The fact that EUR/USD was well bid fater breaking above 1.37 (and putting itself inside the ruling downtrend channel), put a pressure on signals, as the majority were on the short side. Anyway, some money could be cashed and calling it a week here as it was already meant to be a shorter one. Attached is the acc statement so far. Good weekend to all.

DAY 4
START: USD 26,854
FINISH: USD 27,829
DAILY VARIATION: USD +975 (3.63%)
MONTHLY VARIATION: USD +2,829 (11.31%)

Comment: Taking a break after several computer issues which kept me from taking around 12 trades thus spoiling the overall result, despite it being somewhat satisfactory. Let's see what tomorrow offers.

DAY 4
START: USD 27,829
FINISH: USD 30,018
DAILY VARIATION: USD +2,189 (7.86%)
MONTHLY VARIATION: USD +5,018 (20.07%)

Comment: Ending the day longer than expected as watched the action after the release of the FOMC, nothing remarkable there, though.

Nice work. From your statements you are quite a scalper aren't you? Are there any basis for your entries and/or exits?

Will you decide to change your risk management style in the future at all if your streak continues? (35% down draw that is).

Nice read again. Perhaps you should think of going with a broker whom you would get rebates with?

Hi guys,

I've been trying to work a way to show in real-time what I'm doing. So I've set up the following test accounts which almost identically mirrors my real accounts:

I have another model which trades less radically intraday just for EUR/USD, but I will give you more details as we progress on the primary HF model first...

You can make videos like I do on my journal. It's really easy and speaks much louder than typing your results. Good luck.

Are you saying that your spreads are 1.5 pips and less and you pay no commission?

pboyles...yes that's what I'm saying.. in the EUR/USD case I dare say I'm being charged too much, asI could trade it @ 0.9 pips in OandA, but anyway I'm OK with the current broker

trading report updated here http://www.mt4i.com/users/frequencypeak ... as you'll see, I traded a way-out-of-line volume in the swissy (good mistakes only happen on demo for now :-D), that distorted the overall result and did not let me trade the HF in euro...I'm glad that I could make the good pips for my real accs, as both HF trades netted out very good pips in the end...

No I'd say thats pretty good, just wasnt sure I was reading it correctly.

the fourth HF ring did not wait too long to show up, again GBP/USD short was the deal, and I managed to cash some nice pips...even the b***ed demo is in the green after this one good last run...I think Cable can run even lower to 1.4970-75, but it's OK for me...

Mate. You do realise if your platform isn't near the exchange, and you are in fact trading from your home PC, it isn't High Frequency. It's low latency - even a remote server close to the exchange with MT4 on it, I doubt that could even be called medium latency.

If I'm wrong, sorry in advance :).

Waterfield,

nice picture there...when I'm talking about HF rings, I'm talking of the opening&closing of multiple positions within the parameters of the ring in a very short period of time...I'm not referring to the IT factor you mention....put another way, it's HF trading or clicking or if you prefer, I'm just a radical nutjob scalper :-D ....

third and last for the day HF ring closed on EUR/USD LONG with some decent and fast pips...again, a way-out-of-line volume trade makes the outcome of the ring negative in demo, but I don't care anymore, as long as these mistakes keep coming on demo...you can see for yourselves the nice outcome of this trade, save for that glitch-trade...

Cashing in on my third HF ring of the day GBP/USD short, but given the problems with the demo platform today (have not been able to put up the other 2 rings, USD/CHF and EUR/GBP), I'm calling it a day and I'll see what I can do tomorrow...

Finishing the day with a 4th HF ring on GBP/USD Short that, although I have not taken all the pips I could from it (target is 1.5175 from current 1.5195...), it has served me to put the test account back in the 'normal'...am leaving it for today...
