Help for newbies

I decided that rather than cluttering up my signature with useful links, I'd post such links in a "blog". I do hope I can edit them at a later stage if the links stop working.

How much can I make?

How much can I make?

The usual question. Also shrouded in the question, "Can I really make money trading?" and "How much money are all you successful traders making?"

Trading for women?!

http://www.making-bread.co.uk/

I am not sure why it should necessarily be just a site just for women. They don't give you techniques for breast feeding mid-trade or how to change a tampon quickly when a signal is about to flash up. :sneaky:

Maybe the pinkness of the site makes the whole notion of trading more "cuddly".

In any case, another good site for newbies to browse.

hmm.. why is she creating new sites per topic? Wont it make more sense to create a menu and link to differnt pages on the same site?... strange , well its for a dedicated group.

The only books I recommend:
"Trading in the Zone" by Mark Douglas
"Money Management" by Ryan Jones
"Market Wizards", "New Market Wizards" and "Stock Market Wizards" all by Jack Schwager

Was that you in the utube video? Have you had a bad experience? Unfortunately this happens to a lot of people who goes to a two day seminar and think they can conquer the market. I don't know why you are showing this to me, but if it is to show me that most people lose money in the market, I agree. For example, if the gentlemen on utube took a calculated risk and new how much he was risking before he got in the trade, he would have protected his downside and felt diferent about the situation. Most people trade on emotion and he was a perfect example. I don't know what his account size was, but how do you let a single go down on you 25k unless your account size is 5mil. Traders need to realize that to trade the market successfully you need education, planning and descipline. Or you will lose your shirt.

Hey Ninja,

Where's my 'Chase the Market' t-shirt?

 that'd be cool... reminds me, I was trying to think up an absurd strap line for spread betting recently, one with sexual innunedo...you know the kind of thing; I like my spreads tight, a perfect entry, plenty of friction, smooth exit, on a long time frame...any ideas? :)

Might be worthwhile starting a new thread. This blog was really set up to help newbies...
