My SuperTrend Trades

Hi, I am starting this journal to list the *super* trends i identify. I will give the reasons why I feel it is the start/end of a super trend.

What is a super trend trade : One with a reward expectation in excess of 10,000 points.

Bruce Kovner : Place stops at where, if reached, will reasonably indicate that the trade is wrong, NOT at a point determined by the maximum dollar you are willing to lose.

First Trade : Gasoline (No Lead Gasoline)

15th April 09 Range : 1.4795 1.4000

ENTRY
Minor Entry : Price goes above 7 day Ma
Minor Entry : Price goes above 21 day MA
Major Entry : 7day MA crosses above 21 day MA and Price is above 7 Ma.
Major Entry : 7day MA crosses above 21 and 49 day MA and Price is above 7 Ma.

EXITS
Minor Exit : Price goes below 7 day MA
Minor Exit : Price goes below 21 day MA
Major Exit : 7day MA crosses below 21 day MA and Price is below 7 MA.
Major Exit : 7day MA crosses below 21 and 49 day MA and Price is below 7 Ma.

7 day MA goes below 21 day MA

Can you explain what you mean by minor/major entry/exit please?

ENTRY
Minor Entry : Price goes above 7 day Ma
Minor Entry : Price goes above 21 day MA
Minor Entry : Price goes above 49 day MA
Major Entry : 7day MA crosses above 21 day MA and Price is above 7 Ma.
Major Entry : 7day MA crosses above 21 and 49 day MA and Price is above 7 Ma.

EXITS
Minor Exit : Price goes below 7 day MA
Minor Exit : Price goes below 21 day MA
Minor Exit : Price goes below 49 day MA
Major Exit : 7day MA crosses below 21 day MA and Price is below 7 MA.
Major Exit : 7day MA crosses below 21 and 49 day MA and Price is below 7 Ma.

10% of your stake on a major entry / exit , 5% of your stake on a minor.
Say you plan to have £10 a point when fully into Gas.
So on first major entry i would place a bet of approx £3 and so on.

2 more minor exits hit

I think the trend is up for Gas but since the price has now hit 2 minor exit points I am now completely out of Gas.

Price goes above 7 and 21 MA

Also the 7 day MA is above the 21 day MA, which is a good sign.
Made one minor entry.

Price goes above the 3 MAs

Price above 7 , 21 and 49 day MA. Looking good now.

Bhindass - do you take each entry/exit signal that your system gives you?

Looking at the Gasoline chart, in the middle of January, price whipsawed back and forth across the 7MA. So were you entring and exiting this trade each time?
