Just opened a dealing desk spread betting account (Dealing Desk | Home)

I am going to fund said account with £50 and see what I can turn it in to.

This could be the shortest journal in the history of T2W. If my first 2 trades are duds I'm out.

I will be trading the FTSE rolling cash market with dealing desk. I have a 1 point spread and margin requirement to trade £1 a point is £30 so if my balance drops below £30 then I'm out.

All trades will be taken off a 5 minute chart. I don't use indicators at all just candle patterns and try to trade with the trend as much as possible. I should point out not all my patterns are "textbook"

It's worth noting I don't use trendlines or pivots and the only S&R I will use is by eyeballing where the 5 min got stuck previously. I will not look at ANY other time frame.

I work full time so the nature of the beast is that I will often miss some sweet setups. However, I'll live with that.

I will do my best to post live but will screenshot closing balance at the end of each day along with my trades and a couple of lines saying why I took that trade

OOOOPS. Starting balance is £61 11 points out of ftse. Will start tomorrow with a £61 pot.

Roll on 8am

Target....

Ok. Not much point doing this with no target so here they are.

Firstly I need to get this account to a workable size, where I can take some of the riskier opportunities and not panic out when a profitable trade pulls back a few points.

I'll be a lot more comfortable to get a bit ballsy once the account is between £150 - £200.

I have to attend a wedding in the States in June. This 3 day jaunt is going to cost:

Flight £400
Car Rental £200
Spending £500

So my account balance targets are below

TARGET 1: £150
TARGET 2: £350 (pays car rental)
TARGET 3: £750 (pays flight)
TARGET 4: £1250 (pays everything)

However, it could be over this time tomorrow !

Looks like a very choppy day with tight range so far. Are you allowed a day off?
