The Trading Journals forum is a new forum for people to keep a journal of their trading. As you will probably be aware there is already an existing Journal Section of the website here: http://www.trade2win.com/boards/journal.php - however it's not possible to attach images or files to the entries directly. Hence, as a temporary measure we have introduced this forum as a temporary measure until such time as we upgrade the existing journal section and then we'll migrate all the threads in this forum across.

Please note, if you are currently keeping a Journal in the existing section, then you can use the thread here: http://www.trade2win.com/boards/showthread.php?t=19932 to attach images and files to and then to link these from the entries in your journal.

Would it be possible to show the Journals from the forum part also in the Journal List?

Yeah I intend to do this when we relaunch the website. In fact I'm considering moving all the external journals into the forums - so they're all listed in here. Does anyone have any strong feeling about this - whether it's a good or bad thing. The fact you can easily attach images and files in the forums makes it a lot more attractive, on the downside comments by other members are displayed exactly the same as the journal posts - unlike in the external journals, does anyone feel this is a big problem?

Further to my previous comments, here are the options as I see them going forward (for the new site):

1) We keep a separate journals section, where people can have private/public entries and comments are allowed (but don't disrupt the flow of the journal). It would also be more configurable, so people could put a bit about themselves, what they trade, their favourite trading sites etc - more like a typical blog layout. Images cannot be uploaded directly like in the forum.
2) We split the journals forum into two forums, one where other users can post replies to a journal, the other where they can't - in case you want to publish your journal in public but don't want others to comment or disrupt the flow. That's only if there's any demand for the lattar, if not we just import into the existing forum.

Notes:
a) It's not possible to self moderate your thread I'm afraid.
b) It might be possible to highlight posts made by the thread starter - hence making a bit easier to spot which posts are journal entries and which are comments.
c) If we merge everything into the forums, then we won't be able to support private threads/journals. I'm not sure how many people are currently keeping private journals.
d) If we keep two distinct areas, should they be merged into one list of new journal entries on the front page - at the moment the list only includes those from outside the forum.

Your comments are welcome.
