Colleged Fund Challenge

With much thought, I have decided to open up a journal for everyone to see. I have challenged myself to turn as little as $100 into $2,000,000 in two years. I use a simple EA called Turbo Morning Trade as a base but with very different settings. I offer this challenge to myself, however anyone who would like to join me at any time may.

I have just started so I don't have a lot of bragging rights as of yet but I do have quite a bit of back testing results to the tune of 70% gain on average per month. My goal is 50-60% a month (average) forward results. I have opened two live accounts with $200 or under to begin with.

The results will vary a little between them as no two brokers will have exact results.

I will attempt to update per trade. Some trades are open for several hours or even days so I won't post every day.

I will post weekly results as well as monthly summaries.

Good luck to me and all those who take on my challenge.

Hello tk,
Congrats for your decition. I´m a FMT user from the beguining but I have used my personal touches to trade this great system to. I have some templates...etc. I can not join these journals every day but I´d like to know about your progress. Is ti possible to know more about your settings and style?

I will pm you for details. ;)

There was a nice short trade this morning for a win.

Total for the week
Account 1: +.2%
Account 2: +6.1%

I look forward to both accounts blowing up.

And yes they will, guaranteed.

There has been a lot of discussion on the other FMT site about ceasing trading on public holidays and at certain times of the year.

What are your views?

With my style (system) of trading looking at past history, I don't worry about not trading holidays or certain times of the year with the exception of Christmas from say the 17th of Dec - first week of Jan. As you can see from my back-testing results, there were good trades up until Dec 30th and one again on Jan 5th so I'm not sure if even the holidays had something to do with it or just part of the trading the system. Running though both months still brought in 38% in Dec and 42% in Jan.
The short answer is if any time my system should be put on the shelf I would pick the Christmas holiday, maybe the week of the 25th and the week or so after.
Otherwise, my system seems unaffected by news spikes or holidays throughout the year.

Thanks for that.

Since some College trades may not close out on Friday evenings there is a risk of spikes and weekend events causing trade reversals and losses when trading restarts on Mondays.

Would you advise manually closing any outstanding trades late Friday or ride it out until Monday ?

If I give you $10, can I get $200,000 back in 2 years?

ps. If you average 60%/month your maths is terribly off.

No, this runs straight through weekends with no problems. :)

I'm not sure which math you are referring to. If it's the 2mill goal in 2 years, I'm actually trying to be conservative as forward results don't seem to be as good as back tests.

Actual compounding $10 at 60% a month for 24 months gets you
Total Profit: $ 792281.63 (assuming of course a 60% average)

Yes, I recommend for those who find it hard to risk $100, simply let it double in 2-3 months and withdraw the $100 and let the other ride for 2 years risk free. :D

I was referring to 60%/month on $100 for 2 years. You'd get a lot more. But it's good to hear you're being conservative.

No Trade today. It would have been a good trade either way. Just one of those days. :)

Lighten up Hoggi, it is only a bit of fun.

If anyone can't afford to lose $100 then they should not be in this forum.

Yeah - but 60% per month?? Might as well make it 6,000,000% per month - not much less likely to achieve that.

 You are welcome to watch my account as well as give your opinions. I call it a "challenge" not a piece of cake.

It will be a challenge to achieve 60% a month and I'll let the account reveal weather it can be done or not. It has done it in the last 10 months with back testing but history is all I have to go on. Time will tell. ;)

Total for the week
Account 1: +6%
Account 2: +12.5%

There was no trade this morning even though indicators were in a up trend. The filter stopped it from happening. That's ok though as sometimes it saves from a bad trade. (y)

Total for the week
Account 1: +6%
Account 2: +12.5%

Accumulative total gain:
Account 1: -30.8%
Account 2: +32.7%

Account 1 is catching up and should be in profit in a couple of weeks. I had some settings wrong on account 1 therefore the 3 losses.
Account 2 is more accurate on how the system actually performs. 2 full weeks and +32%. That's how a system should perform.
