Trainee systematic trader

A well known commodity house is looking to expand its proprietary trading desk with 2 junior traders.
Candidates must be:-
Highly motivated individuals capable of working alone and in a team.
Educated to degree standard in a quantitative field.
Strong technology skills including VBA and other programming languages
Good knowledge of statistics and probability theory.
Understanding of derivatives markets especially futures.
The successful candidates will be required to assist in the optimisation and execution of already established medium/high frequency trading strategies to begin with.
Once a clear first hand knowledge of technical and fundamental analysis of the markets has been demonstrated you will be helped to create, build and implement your own strategies.

I didn't know understanding programming languages was a prerequisite and neither did I know one has to hold a degree in quantitative subject in order to be able to handle the maths involved in the job! Asking for a bit much aren't we?

I didnt know it was essential to understand programming languages to be a trader, neither did I know one has to hold a degree in quantitative subject to be able to handle the maths involved in the job! Asking for alot aren't we?

I wouldn't count on your CV being read first now ....

You are correct in your comments Posca, as i do not possess the necessary skills to apply for the role myself!
However I am in a position to ask for what I want in this area, I'm not looking for proven track records and this is not a "bums on seats" local prop shop.

Due to the impressive response from this and other forums I will not be looking at any more C.V.s for a while.
:smart:

Thanks
Lee
