HI there any one got any experience trading arcdes in Singapore ? > looking at Futex but would like some other names ?? .

Australian tax regime is too much for me .:)

How does the execution speed compare to London for the European exchanges? And how are people generally getting on trading the Asian markets? Many people making much money?

Im a currency trader myself so I don't have the best idea.

I know that there used to be people who where making "OMFG F-loads" on the HSI. But since it has dropped from 30k to 13k its only "F-loads" now.

Its my understanding the HSI is the craziest market in the world for scalpers.

Execution speed over here on european markets wouldn't be noticeably slow unless you are scalping. My guess is 1sec lag.

I hear Singapore is attracting more and more HF's, Props, etc.... are you seeing this to?

With respect to who is making what ? , who knows ? .. I dont really care I just focus on what I am making could not give a crap about anyone else

Connectivity is / can be an issue , talking real ( futures ) here not that FX stuff :)

That is more than enough time to .....uck you over ! , especially if your are trading Eurex in OZ due to internet connections there . Ok if you are in a good setup piped in to Eurex , but for the average Telstra connection me thinks no thanks.

I would by far prefer to be living in Europe then Oz anyday. Oz is like an annoying, ugly, attention seeking groupie.

Where exactly is the Eurex exchange located?

p.s. futures smuchtures :p

Don't know what the futures ref is for ? , suppose you are making some comparison to the retail based FX thingy , ?? , Never had anything to do with it never will . I don' t like the idea of it it all.

Well its obviously in Europe... But I cant find the exact location of the central mainframe.

The "locations" section on the Euurex website doesn't exactly help
Eurex - Locations

The connections in Singapore are pretty dubious, if you trade on TT forget it, they link through a FIX to the asian exchanges which slows you up. The links to eurex are hit and miss, their "hub" here isn't a full hub like Geneva for example, it's just a rerouter. Slowdowns to hang seng, kospi etc are bad - good connectivity to SGX nikkei and Taiwan on SGX but the nikkei is mainly thick with algo spreaders on proximity servers in Tokyo. Give it 5 yrs and take another look.

I would be interested to know more about guys in the NKI, because speed is not an issue with that market. However, it seems to be overly dominated by some large players who just f**k around with the market until they are filled and then move let it move.

Given the current range as a small prop player, I am not aware of anyone really making any decent $$$ out of it. The HSI on the other hand is an insane op for even small prop guys. The speed is a mjor issue, has anyone traded it from HK?

We've got a guy out in Singapore trading Eurex products, but it's quicker for him to use a VPN back to our clearer in the UK than go through the local hub. Not as speedy as it might be here but seems to work fast enough if you're not a pure jobber.

What outfits can you go through in HK?
