Hi,
I'm looking for a download that will let me back test some trading systems and wonder if anyone has any ideas?

Try TS, you have to pay for it but get 1 month free. It is probably the easiest to get to grips with.

I don't know if this will help you, but www.ProRealTime.com end of day charts are free, and you can use backtest and screening functionalities.
