Hello all,

I'm a newbie to the stock market, just want to get that out there.

Just wondering what you guys think about the indicator "Relative Strength" (Not the RSI indicator) when it comes to finding the sectors and stocks that are out performing the market.

how do you guys use "Relative Strength"?

What things do you look for when using the Relative Strength indicator?

Thanks for any help, Dave

there are diiferent ways to calculate RS, its not just one indicator. You need to have an index, which is the denominator.

then you compare % change usually of issue to % change of index.

You want to get in early and hold. Use for bullish moves primarily, apparently doesn't work as well in bear markets. You can tinker with the math and customize for your purposes..

It can work for you
