live feed...

Could anyone tell me how I go about inputing a live feed from my trading platform into a spreadsheet? This will probaly appear as an extrememly ignornat question, but I am rather ignorant so any help would be appreciated.

Im not even an expert but im sure its something to to with DDE.

which trading platform are you using?
and do they have the ability to allow you to stream the realtime data
into a spreadsheet.

I have come across advfn & esignal that can stream prices into excel,
not sure about other datafeeds.

Do you have to pay for the advfn service?

If you just want current prices (Bid, Ask, Ask Size) etc then you might be able to do it with your front end - what are you using?

If you want historical prices, you might have to use another service.

i just want current prices! I use a platform called star. Does anyone know how to do it using metatrader?

shoot me down if its a stupid suggestion, but have you tried

* asking someone / referring to the documents for your software?
* right clicking on the price you want, copy, paste?

the advfn costs £20 a month for the dde service
