Looks like it is prefect solution between phone and laptop....

browse web....watch films...read books...listen to iTunes...receive calls..and it is like a thin pad...

Must find something for MacBookPro to do...!

It makes me laugh how they called it the "iPad". I thought he said... "We show it you for the first time... and we call it... the iPod..." -- Nah mate, you've shown as that sh!t before!

Looks just like a massive iPhone tbh.

Yeah...it is funny...I remember when ipod first came out and my nephew wanted it...I said then that you will never catch me using one....I will stick to my vinys...some 78speed as well....

But caught the bug and here I am...

I do find laptops are still cumbersome and not too portable...Tablet appeals to me

Well it is named iPad...But there are no other choices...!
 
$499 for 16mb in US 3G, Wi Fi is more expensive for the basic model

Does it fold? Looks pants to me, they've messed up this time imo. Of course it'll fly off the shelves as people love to buy anything by Apple but I see little use for this and after watching the video only good thing it does it flip images like iphone and I couldn't give a toss about that. It really doesn't look cool and I can't see it doing well but as above it probably will by virtue of being apple, you'd look a right prat pulling that out in public and that screen will get scratched to buggery.

I don't really see the use for me but I say go for it if you reckon it'll be useful for you...

As for me, now this has come out I reckon I might as well go and get a kindle

I think it is alightly smaller than A4 size paper....and half inch thick....No hard drive only solid state drive...
 
So the question is: at what point do I short Apple shares on this heap of junk? I'm guessing i'll let the early adopters rush out and buy it and then after those results i'll short it for the following statement.
 
you can't short apple shares on it, the ibooks thing could easily pwn you there.

Would be a real bitch if this becomes the market leader as the kindle is infinitely better for ebooks.

most of the difference in price is due to vat and import duties - this is in reality another opportunity to be reminded of how evil the government and taxation are
 
yes,
So what I see people who likely willing to buy are rather middle aged, than young ones.
It makes sense if you need a 2nd laptop to use for presentation purposes to show to the client, cos is kind of cheap. But I wonder if it takes Dvd`s? Cos looks pretty slim tho.
