Cantor index online platform - problems

Hi

I'm trying to run the the Cantor Index online platform from my work PC, but am having problems with firewalls/ports/etc.

Has anyone any ideas how to get round this?

Any suggestions gratefully received!

There are several options, assuming your company firewall blocks anything other than standard web access ports and Cantors front end uses not standard ports:

1) Install a SOCKS Proxy server on your PC. This tunnels everything through port 80 and effectively allows you outgoing access to anything ;o)

There are loads of free ones available if you search on www.download.com

2) Remote control your home machine using port 80. Again this is applicable if you have broadband. Suitable solutions are Remotely Anywhere and TightVNC
