Why is it that when I just open one bookmark in Opera it sometimes crashes, I try to load a couple from a session that is saved it crashes. Why could this be all of a sudden. Getting annoying now. Firefox works fine, when Opera crashes I have to go into Task manager to shut it down, I can't just right click at the symbol in the taskbar as it does not display properly. I do not have any addons on it at the moment. I do like opera though.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Alan

Opera 9.25

Yes I have.

Started using Opera about 9 months ago. Never really had a problem, well not like this.
I had in Tabs---Ransquawk(Logged in), MSN Heatmap, UK-Wire, UK-Wire top announcements. When I open these Opera crashes.

When I get time I will uninstall everything and reinstall to see if that helps, but done that before and it did not help. I use COMODO firewall which should not be the problem as Opera is a trusted application.
XP-Pro, 1GigRam, P4-2Ghz.

Thanks for reply

Not sure what to suggest other than reverting to an earlier version that you know is stable. I use Opera 8 btw and haven't tried 9 yet.

Opera security

Thanks for your replies.
When you use an earlier version of something, are you risking some security issues as the newer ones will be more up to date.

I will look for an earlier version of opera now. Just tried opera now and crashed loading astronomy.com. Back to using firefox at the moment.

Thanks again

I just use firefox which works well most of the time. The only problem i get with firefox is somethimes i can't click on something - when i try to, the page moves, and i have to try a few times, or right click & then keep trying until it settles down.

astronomy.com loads fine for me, using Opera 8.54 on Windows 2000. Opera has always been pretty secure, much more than any version of IE, so I wouldn't worry about reverting to an earlier version.
