Pc/dvd Help Request

I have started to experience problems when using a DVD in my Laptop. When i insert a disc the disc starts playing in a psycodelic green mode (ala 1970's top of the pops). Any idea what is causing this and how i can correct this?

Is the Disc a proper DVD ie one from the studios or a one you've done yourself? try another proper DVD in it as it may be you are missing the correct codecs to play it back mate.

Have tried original discs - just seems to have happened overnight- everything else is working fine. Will keep on trying.
