When paying online I prefer to pay in the sellers currency even when the website does me the "favour" of converting to a pound amount. To date this has not been a problem as it has been possible to change back to the original currency before paying.
With a site that does not allow this is it possible to suppress the fact that I am uk based by
spyware software or other means?
Thanks

Not too sure what you mean by this - could you clarify?

Also, my bank charges me a ridiculous surcharge to pay my exchange fees in USD (OpenTick).

You could connect to the site through a proxy server based in the US to disguise the fact that ur connecting from the UK maybe that would work.
