Workstation vs. Desktop?

I am evaluating the difference between purchasing a desktop or a workstation.
What is the difference and why would I buy one over the other.
All I need this system for is to day trade with mulitple monitors? :|

Just buy a desktop with a multiple monitor graphic card and XP. You can add up to 5 monitors

A workstation may have SCSI hard disks, more advanced graphics card(s) or have a motherboard which will take two processors instead of one. For most trading applications a reasonably specified desktop will be more than sufficient.
