Hi all
I am in SA for a 3 month stretch, but when connecting through a local ISP with my UK laptop, I'm having a couple of problems.

Firstly I dont seem to be able to open charts properly using InteractiveBrokers' TWS platform, the chart opens, but very few bars. I was thinking that this might be related to slow local telephone connections. Ideas anyone ?

Secondly I can collect my pop emails, but can't seem to send them. Could this be due to my location ? Or maybe I have to change my Outlook Express settings ?

Any advice is appreciated !

Hi Rog

For email you'll need to change your outgoing mail server (smtp) to that of your isp in SA.
In outlook, it's under tools/accounts, then select your mail account, then properties/servers.

What's the weather like?

Hi rog, don't know about the e-mail, but I have had similar problems with charts when the connection was slow and congested in countries where the internet wasn't all that.

During our first week here in Durban, it has varied between 26 and 31 degrees, with a fair amount of humidity, but very little rain, & the sea is warm too. I don't know why I even bothered bringing long trousers !

However, I'd feel better about all of this though if I had a decent Internet connection, after all I'm supposed to be managing clients funds, but I'm working on it !

Cheers
