Any ideas why the clock on my computer (laptop) has started losing about 15mins a day? May be associated with the computer slowing down towards the end of the day even though I'm not loading very much on it, nor surfing about wildly.

Don't seem to have caught a virus (as far as I know  ) but you never know. May have something to do with installing ZA firewall?

Thanks.

How old is this laptop? It may be that the internal memory battery needs changing. This memory is used to store such things as the clock / calendar / settings etc.

Thinking about my own laptop I have no idea where the internal battery would be (somewhere on the motherboard no doubt) or how one would access it without skills in dismantling laptop cases! It's probably of the lithium watch battery form...small and flat, easy to buy just not replace ;)

Do you run ur laptop off its main battery or from the mains?

I can't think of any other reason for a clock losing so much time each day.

You bought a laptop and didn't realise you had to wind it up???

Oh dear......

one born every day....
