We're probably only a few weeks away from the creation of the 100 thousandth thread. Any chance of a give-away for the poster?

What would you suggest ?

In my view there should be some exclusions such as not allowing a spam or advert thread to be included.

The other problem is that theads 99998, 99999, 100001, and 100002 will be useless chuff from people trying to get the prize.

Free life membership and T shirt with Sharky's face on the front and "I'm Only Here For The Lulz" on the back?

yes, that's a point MrG - anyway where did you dig up the stats, Arabian? According to the forum page the stats are:

Threads: 57,166, Posts: 758,631, Members: 204,646

The hundred thousandth thread should obviously one of those totally genuine, oh-so-useful ones telling us how to turn £10 into £100,000 in a week.

Oh, well that makes me look a bit daft then.

What's the thread ID thing then? It's showing this as thread #97872.

maybe all the deleted threads in it - just shows how hard we mods have to work!!!!!

A sort of numbering system seems pretty straightforward, but the figures quoted in the address bar don't line up with reality - they are an order of magnitude out.

For example, 1 out of every 2 threads being deleted? improbable but plausible... however, a similar thing exists in the member profile bit. I just clicked on the newest members profile alyssataylor1962 which indicated there should be 299488 members, but our good friend alyssataylor1962 is actually member number 204,648. That would mean nearly 1/3rd of all members have been banned / de-registered, which I find hard to swallow.
