That IG thread?

I think I'm going mad. It was part of a bigger thread and associated posts relating to an apparent high flyer within IG got deleted?

I think it was but the post about "I know a mate who's high up in IG and says they do X" isn't there. Presumably been pulled?

TBH there's no proof of the allegation and I don't want this thread deleted. It's the usual stuff about how spreadbetting companies put the successful on manual and use their trades to trade with. Nothing new.

Nevertheless, it's still censorship. Of course, IG are a big advertiser on this site.
So now content is being determined by advertising revenue?
Worthy of Murdoch.

Fortunately I get subscribed thread postings emailed, and I still have that one.
I don't think it said anything new, but the interesting thing was that it appeared to come from an authoritative source. Yes, of course appearances can be deceptive.

I always used to wonder what would happen if we got a SB company "whistleblower" on here; I guess now I know.

"Nothing to see here; move along..."

EDIT: I've just checked back, and unless I'm much mistaken, my reply to that guy has also been deleted.
So what did I say that was worthy of deletion?
I didn't quote him (it was too long), as far as I remember. (I don't get emailed my own postings, so I can't check to be sure).
Mods/Admin: I officially protest about my reply being deleted.

Whether he was an insider or not, similar things have been said on here before. Perhaps if he'd referred to A Well-known Spread Betting firm instead of IG Index(oops) the thread wouldn't have been snipped?

Yes my post is gone too, I think I actually said in my post that I though it would be deleted. We can probably draw our own conclusions given the fact that it was deleted rather than rebutted.

The replies were related to the allegation so if you delete the allegation for fear of lawsuits then you would have to delete the replies to the allegation. My reply was in defence of IG...

without the original allegation none of the replies make any sense

Not if the reply does not repeat the allegation, which I don't think mine did.

I think this stinks.

We see blatant spammers getting away with it, but an apparent whistleblower is stepped on right away. We see blatant multinickers like Tajammy/FXtrend240/Chartsy flouting the multiple account rules for months, and then getting a slap on the wrist. (The Chartsy account has still not been banned - I don't think he is such a bad fellow actually, but he should not be allowed to flagrantly break the rules).

It doesn't really make sense though. IG are not stupid surely. They have two sets of clients. Consistent losers and consistent winners. They can ignore the consistent losers, they'll be paying IG money without IG doing anything. With the winners, they can just take the aggregate position and hedge it in the market. Pocketing quite a bit anyway from spread and such. And if they wanted they can piggyback their best clients.

The alternative of putting a successful client on manual, will result in the client leaving, and IG losing money.

If they do it, they're stupid.
