“T2W will be a beacon in the industry, a place where traders of all types and experience can come, safe in the knowledge that the information and support is of the highest calibre, enabling them to cut a path through the trading jungle without losing their shirts.”

May I be the first to wish them the best of luck for the arduous journey ahead. Lets use this thread to celebrate t2w's road to redemption. If they do something well, lets hear about it

As it's your thread, I challenge you to list something positive. Just so there's no misunderstanding, by positive I mean something that is genuinely helpful, useful and beneficial for the membership as a whole.
;)

Its not my job to resurrect t2w phoenix like from the ashes, that's your job I'm afraid. When you do something positive, I'll be the first to acknowledge it. I cant very well post something positive if it doesn't exist now can I ?

In the unlikely event that I miss these new highs (and I'm sure I wont), others are obviously free to post.

I wish you luck

...............When you do something positive, I'll be the first to acknowledge it.............

No you won't, you'll find something in it to twist and use as a stick to beat T2W. Or are you going to rise "phoenix like from the ashes" too :)

It's your thread. If I posted all the things T2W does well, extensive and exhaustive exchanges with you have taught me that you'd respond exactly as Jon suggests. So, there's very little point in me posting. Besides, it would look as if I'm boasting - and I'm not the boasting type.

So, are you seriously saying you can't find one solitary thing about T2W that's praiseworthy? Surely someone as creative and imaginative as you who is able to find fault in abundance with everyone and everything - can find one small thing we do well? Go on - surprise yourself - you know you can if you try . . .

Please go ahead and post of all the things t2w does well. I certainly wouldn't consider it boasting, I would find it educational, and it would help me understand your perspective a little better. Post em, and I promise I wont comment or criticize.

In your post on the "A New Low ?" thread, just before you went off into your "I have a dream" spiel, you made a comment that I've edited slightly to make it a little more readable

"I believe the bulk of the membership want T2W to pull through the current malaise that it's in. I'm confident it will do just that because changes are afoot as Sharky has indicated in his post on the other thread."

That to me indicates that you believe there are problems, that the site is in a "malaise" and that changes are required. When I or any other member makes exactly those same points we are ridiculed and demonized. It sounds to me rather like you are not currently making new highs, but that you are anticipating highs after the changes that Mr Sharky is about to announce.

I might have missed the announcement, and I might have missed the new highs cos I've been out this AM, but clearly no one else saw them, or if they did they didn't post em !

See, there you go again . Time and time again it's been made clear in our posts that there are problems, things have deteriorated, mistakes have been made etc etc. And just where have members who have pointed out these things been demonised and ridiculed.

As for something pretty good, in my opinion and to save Tim's blushes, perhaps you've never come across this example http://www.trade2win.com/boards/first-steps/89078-essentials-first-steps.html amongst other similar things.

Actually Jon, one of the very few things of value on t2w was provided by Tim, and that's his trading plan template. I know Tim's a paid member of staff these days, but that particular document was provided free of charge, whilst Tim was still a regular member .

I personally think that Tim stared off with the best of intentions, and the trading plan that I've regularly recommended to members both here at t2w and other trading sites, is the only reason I'm not a lot tougher in my rebuttals of Tim's rather vacuous arguments.

His article on vendors, which was written whilst in t2w's employ is also far better than I expected under the circumstances.

Lulz aside, scose-no-doubt has pretty much nailed most of the key points. You cant make amends for the damage that t2w perhaps unintentionally does with any number of articles, no matter how well written.

However, its nice to see a contribution to the thread, but technically, the thread is supposed to record new highs, not to retrospectively point out articles that have been around for a while :)

You'd be the first to complain if I started to dig up old misdemeanors and mistakes and posted them in the new low thread :)

Yes, but Tim threw you a challenge about what's here at the moment :).

I don't ask for much from you. Just a bit of balance in your assessment of T2W that gives some recognition to the good things about it occasionally.

Yes, but Tim threw you a challenge about what's here at the moment :).

Then he's off topic, and as a moderator you should come down hard on him for disrupting my thread. A 7 day ban would not be out of order in the circumstances

If Tim wants to start a thread about whats great about t2w he is free to do so, or do I have to create that one for him as well ?

I know that you and Tim are toiling away rebuilding the new t2w which I am informed will be a beacon of shining something or other, but maybe, just maybe before you do much more, perhaps it would be a good idea to ask members what they actually want. Its no good giving em a beacon of shining light if they want... oh I don't know.... whatever it is your target demographic wants (or god forbid, what they NEED)

Last time you gave em a rebate scheme with a couple of dodgy bucket shops who are both having a few problems with the regulators over slippage practices, and a book written by some guy who decodes secret boxes smuggled out of Nazi Germany (only 89 copies left).

From the feedback obtained at the time, I know some where disappointed, not me I hasten to add, I enjoyed and appreciated the whole thing immensely.

Seriously, why doesn't anyone ever ask what anyone wants ? (yes I know you had the t2w adviser's and I promise I wont mention them again)

Seriously, what do you want?

Heavens above can no one at t2w stay on topic ?

This thread is to record new highs, not to solicit feedback on what members want to see in a reformed t2w.

Why don't you start a thread, and I might just contribute, maybe even the black swan will be coaxed out of retirement

Hi the hare,
Please go ahead and post of all the things t2w does well. I certainly wouldn't consider it boasting, I would find it educational, and it would help me understand your perspective a little better. Post em, and I promise I wont comment or criticize.
I have to say that I'm surprised that you appear to be having such difficulty in finding things about T2W that are praiseworthy. Here are three examples I would have thought you would have mentioned:
1. Your own posts (and those of your previous incarnation, zupcon). Are none of those of any value? What about the posts alerting members to the scams - are they worthless too?
2. What about all of SOCRATES posts - do they hold no merit, interest or value for members in your opinion?
3. What about the help and advice you received from a fellow long standing and highly respected T2W member in your early days? At the very least, surely T2W deserves credit for bringing the two of you together?

Those are just 3 examples off the top of my head - I'm sure you can think of many more if you wanted to. As you've already commented in your reply to Jon - you'll no doubt be keen to point out to me that these are old highs. But, be fair, even you don't expect new highs on a thread less than a day old surely?! Anyway, rest assured, there's a biggy coming very soon when Sharky makes his announcement - so you won't have long to wait!

When it comes, your next challenge will be to resist the temptation to put a negative spin on it!
;)

I might have missed the announcement, and I might have missed the new highs cos I've been out this AM, but clearly no one else saw them, or if they did they didn't post em.
As Jon has rightly said, it's a question of balance. You, s-n-d and others love to polarize things and make out that the site and its staff are evil and corrupt etc. That's not helpful to either of us. In the eyes of the bulk of 'moderate' members with a sense of balance - I seriously doubt that any of them recognize the extreme picture you like to paint about us. If you adopted a more reasonable tone, I'm sure more moderate members would take what you say seriously. It's ironic that some members may well disregard some of the good points and posts that you and other detractors make for this same reason.

Yeah, of course I admit that T2W is in a malaise right now and has been for a while. Everyone is aware of it, but there is a big difference between constructive criticism and the extreme polarization and confrontational stance that you and a few others like to engage in. I have never objected to constructive criticism about where we go wrong and what we need to do to address problems. Indeed, I make a point of welcoming it. Similarly, I readily admit that we make mistakes. I make mistakes, I screw up from time to time, I admit that. However, making mistakes is a different kettle of fish from knowingly and deliberately doing anything that will cause problems or financial loss etc. I have never done this and never will. It's about intent and my intent and that of my colleagues is to make the site the best it can be for the benefit of its members.
Tim.

When did I say anything about trade2win or staff being evil and corrupt? I've said you politic your way through answers and do not offer much in the way of substance as far as some of your responses are concerned... I said that past events indicate a pattern of behaviour that suggest the aims of the organisation are not in the best interests of the majority of stakeholders and that I believe that over recent years the bulk of increases in revenues have derived from engaging in behaviour that a lot of us would call unethical. I said that trade2win has a habit of associating with people and organisation of questionable ethics and credentials. As my interpretation can be based only on the information I have at hand and what I've experienced as a member, I've presented many questions that if answered would clarify trade2wins position and none have been answered.

Trying to boil my points down to some sort of good and evil nonsense is more than a little condescending. I have said that I think trade2win puts revenues ahead of all else and that this is an understandable business decision. One that I think that trade2win should not attempt to disguise. Why would I change my viewpoint if t2w continues to be evasive with regard to certain issues? Granted you have no obligation to answer anything I ask but I believe that other members would find the answers interesting too, though I have no way of proving this. What you're doing with posts like this is tantamount to character assassination (or the demonising I've referred to in the other thread) when in actuality I've been quite civil with anyone I've had any discussions with and I've presented nothing more than what I believe to be logical argument. I've even broken 90%+ of it down into single points and in some cases even asked you yourself to respond to which of the things I presented as facts that you have issue with and I've been ignored for the most part and received no direct response, just a diversionary discussion pertaining to something marginally related, in regards to the remaining minority.

Also, why do you say I'm confrontational? I disagree with a lot of what goes on here and I believe that some of it is as unethical (for me!) as the activities carried out by third parties that are discussed on these boards very boards and I think that the evasiveness shown by trade2win sometimes borders on dishonesty. You'll probably say I'm attacking again but... the question of t2w's integrity has been brought up - with very good reason - in the past. Why was it not called confrontational when other users did it then? What is confrontational about me voicing my opinion when I've asked for clarification of trade2win position to prove me wrong?

Just because you don't like the questions I'm asking doesn't mean I'm polarising or being confrontational.

I was just about to edit my post to say that I believe that this is why me and some members of staff don't get on. I don't tell lies about them or attempt to discredit them though. We might have had a few trolly exchanges in past years but I must be one for letting bygones be bygones moreso than others. Can't think of any other reason for it really.
