Released Indicators

Hi,

I've just joined this site (forums) and upon looking around I see a tab under the User Control Panel for 'Indicators'. Of course (and being new): when I look at that tab it shows 'no indicators released' (or something like that). This (if it is what I THINK it is) is a nice feature that I've not seen on any other site (forums). The question is: how do you 'release' an indicator???

Good question and well spotted! We were going to add a special forum to let people release indicators. Although we did most of the work setting it up and it would have enabled the authors to ask for donations rather than payment - we never ended up going live with it. If there's an interest to add this to the site, then perhaps it's something we'd go back and consider releasing.

Hi 'Sharky',

Thanks for responding.

I had no idea that was what it was for i.e. I figured it would act like a sort of 'central repository' for indicators etc. 'released' by the user (not for 'gain' or anything of that nature). Given my understanding of what I THOUGHT it was for I thought it was a good idea because on forums such as these: inevitably somebody posts an indicator or system and when they start a thread and as the thread progresses the indicator or system gets updated and it makes it real difficult to 'track' the latest 'release' of the indicator or system. OK: it's not a BIG problem if, for example, whoever is posting an indicator or system on the thread ONLY uses the very first post in the thread to upload the very latest 'release' but in practice people don't do this (and then you land up with fifty posts on the same thread asking which is the latest 'release')!!! LOL!!!

Anyway: YOUR idea is probably better anyway i.e. 'all donations welcome'!!! LOL!!!
