FINRA protected of US accounts for non US residents?

Hi - quick question to the Non US traders that have accounts with a US broker, namely IB, tradestation, lightspeed etc.

Is your account protected under FINRA, where do you stand if the broker goes bust? I imagine as a non US resident you would have no say in getting your funds back or is this not the case at all.
